Job Description

·       Develops demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation

·       Reviews historical sales trends, researches demand drivers, prepares forecast data, develops statistical forecast models and evaluates results forecast results.

·       Coordinates cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.

·       Interacts with sales, marketing and finance departments to understand demand forecast drivers.

·       Provides input to the Supply Planning organisation in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.

·       Establishes and maintains understanding of vendors and resources, acting as the sourcing specialist for preferred vendors and suppliers.

·       Provides and performs administrative support by compiling, monitoring, updating and distributing various pieces of information, reports, planning schedules as required for department purposes.

·       Assists the Supply Chain Planning department, other Planners and direct up-line with other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.

·       Works directly with various departments (Warehouse/Distribution, Manufacturing and Buyers) as well as with outside suppliers.

Candidate Profile

·       2-3 years of experience in demand planning in a logistics company

·       Bachelor’s, college degree or its equivalent; postgraduate degree will be considered as an asset.

·       Excellent command of the English language; knowledge of the Italian language will be considered as an asset.

·       Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.

·       Knowledge of SAP/APO, or other software related to demand planning is preferred.

·       Very good knowledge of MS Office and Windows.

·       Strong analytical, organisational, decision making and presentation skills

·       Advanced interpersonal skills are essential as well

·       Good facilitation skills are a prerequisite
