Job Summary:
The Purchasing Manager for The Lemon Tree & Co. is responsible for overseeing the procurement
of all food, beverages, supplies, and services necessary for the efficient operation of the
restaurant and beach club. This includes managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts,
and ensuring that all purchases meet the quality and cost standards set by the organization. The
role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the
hospitality and beach club industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that ensure cost-effective and timely
acquisition of goods and services specific to The Lemon Tree & Co.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and products that meet the
establishment’s quality and budgetary requirements.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Evaluate supplier performance and manage the resolution of any disputes or issues.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure that The Lemon Tree & Co. has adequate supplies without
overstocking.
- Implement inventory control systems to track stock levels, usage rates, and reorder points.
Cost Control:
- Monitor and manage the purchasing budget to achieve cost savings and financial efficiency.
- Analyze and report on purchasing metrics, including cost per unit and total expenditure.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all purchased goods and services meet The Lemon Tree & Co.’s quality standards.
- Work closely with the culinary and operations teams to address any quality issues or
discrepancies.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, and supplier interactions.
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor procurement staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
Sustainability Initiatives:
- Promote and integrate sustainable procurement practices within The Lemon Tree & Co.’s
operations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for environmentally friendly purchasing.
Operational Support:
- Collaborate with the kitchen, bar, and beach club staff to forecast demand and ensure timely
procurement of supplies.
