Interim Country Controller [fixed term maternity leave cover - 14 months]
As a Country Controller , you will be responsible for the statutory and fiscal reporting and oversee the local compliance and controls. This role will lead the Financial controlling function in Greece, responsible for Controlling and Transactional Processing.
In this period of change, the focus will also be on delivering the change in the agreed timeline and guide the team through this. This role will also act as a trusted advisor to the internal stakeholders in the various operating divisions allowing for a smooth transition.
The Country Controller is part of the Global Controlling team, reporting into the Regional Controller for EMEA.
Key accountabilities
- Harmonise financial and administrative procedures, policies and processes across the respective client's divisions.
- Ensure an appropriate controls environment is in place and monitor and report compliance with it.
- Manage a team of three people, including developing and motivating them and ensuring they have the required skills and competencies to execute effectively the responsibilities of the Accounting and Controlling function.
- Manage interactions with auditors and oversees audit compliance activities and statutory accounts sign-off
- Oversee production of financial information and analysis to enable business stakeholders working with their Finance Business Partners to make decisions with full understanding of the financial impacts they will have
- Overseeing the financial operations of the company (payroll, billing, A/P, A/R, treasury)
- Managing month-end accounts and reporting.
Capabilities and exprerience
You will be a strategic and sleeves rolled-up Financial Controller adept at engaging and influencing key stakeholders to build a strong network of collaborative relationships and partnerships across the Country, Divisions and Kantar. Results-focused, you will be capable of driving through complexity to deliver successful outcomes.
Candidates must demonstrate the following experience:
- Experience in a Finance Director / Finance Controlling / Management Accounting role
- BSc in Finance / Accounting
- Professional license (A’ degree) to sign-off Statutory accounts in Greece
- Track record of delivering against set objectives within budget and timeline
- Track-record of driving medium/large size teams through change
- Experience of working with regulatory bodies, managing statutory and regulatory compliance and IFRS
- Experience of working collaboratively in a matrix environment
- High integrity and confidence
- Demonstrated technical expertise in financial management and accounting
- Fluency in Greek and English
