Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer you will be working in a small, cross-functional team that delivers reports, dashboards and ad hoc data analysis to our business users and customers based on our internal self-service BI solution. You will work with a modern streaming-first Big Data platform based on Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, PostgreSQL, Apache Druid and Jasper Reports.

Responsibilities:

• Build SQL queries for loading data from Data Warehouse into reports and dashboards based on business requirements
• Analyze cases of missing or wrong data in Reports, Dashboards and Data Warehouse
• Maintain data in Data Warehouse and perform regular administration work to ensure stable monthly reporting procedures
• Support users in the interpretation of data and active participation in improving data quality

• Studies in computer science/business informatics or a comparable IT background
• experience in the field of data analysis/engineering and working with databases in a Data Warehouse
• Good skills in writing SQL queries to load data and prepare them for visualization reports and dashboards
• Knowledge of building ETL pipelines and integration of data into a Data Warehouse
• Programming skills especially in Python and in context of data retrieval and transformation are favorable
• Confident communication skills in English
