Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and aspiring Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen brigade. As a
Commis Chef, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your culinary skills under the
guidance of experienced chefs while contributing to the creation of memorable dining experiences
for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior chefs in the preparation and cooking of menu items, following established
recipes and standards.
- Handle and prepare ingredients under the supervision of senior kitchen staff, ensuring
accuracy and consistency in portioning and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, including equipment and
utensils, in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating kitchen supplies and ingredients to ensure
freshness and minimize waste.
- Support kitchen operations during service by fulfilling tasks such as garnishing plates,
plating dishes, and coordinating with other kitchen staff.
- Continuously seek opportunities to learn and improve culinary techniques and skills through
training and hands-on experience.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the kitchen environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a culinary role or culinary education/training preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
- Enthusiasm for learning and developing culinary skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior chefs.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to maintain cleanliness and organization in the
kitchen.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
