ICAP Executive Search & Selection, on behalf of its client, a Premier organization in the Greek market, extending its reach to the US, is currently seeking to recruit an IT Director.

IT Director (5836/ITD/ESS/GR)

Role Overview:

The IT Director (Information Systems & Technology Director) is responsible for developing and overseeing the effective execution of the Group’s IT Strategy, ensuring seamless integration of technology solutions to support current and future business needs. The role involves optimizing IT operations, managing global IT systems and leading digital transformation initiatives, to enhance efficiency across all company departments.

This position requires a forward-thinking and highly skilled IT leader with deep technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a strong drive for optimization and innovation in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is a credible and strategic IT professional with a high-value skill set, capable of effectively managing and transforming the IT function within a complex, fast-paced service industry setting.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides strategic leadership for the IT function, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Leads digital transformation initiatives and guest technology innovations, overseeing IT teams in implementing and managing effective hardware and software technology solutions.
  • Supports all business departments in their IT requirements and management information systems, aligning emerging technologies with business needs and strategic goals.
  • Leads IT strategic and operational planning by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems to achieve company goals.
  • Develops, monitors, and improves IT processes and policies to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost-effective IT investments, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development, to meet business needs and company objectives.
  • Ensures the successful integration and operation of business application systems within the company’s business environment to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Oversees the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards to facilitate seamless operations across departments.
  • Directs the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of applications, network, and hardware infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security regulations and company standards.
  • Leads collaborations with clients and third parties for systems integration needs (e.g., payment applications, reservation systems, B2C booking engines) to deliver high-quality services in line with company standards.
  • Manages relationships with software houses and IT subcontractors to meet corporate requirements and enhance IT service efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
  • Monitors technology trends and developments to propose improvements that enhance IT service efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
  • Develops, submits, and oversees the execution of the MIS Division’s budget, ensuring cost control and identifying corrective actions for deviations.
  • Undertakes and contributes to special projects as required, ensuring their successful completion.
  • Coordinates, coaches, and motivates IT staff through training, development, and performance management to ensure they have the necessary knowledge, skills, and support to contribute to departmental and company objectives.

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of senior IT leadership experience, within the Aviation, Hospitality and Tourism / Cruising Industry, Travel and hotel background is preferred. Ideally service and guest centric industry.
  • Previous Strategic Leadership of IT Function.
  • Proven track record of leading IT strategy, innovation, and digital transformation. Track record of driving process.
  • Strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience in IT reengineering and process innovation.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize operational data into IT applications.
  • Knowledge of New Build Architecture and deployment.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication, advisory, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of local and regional IT providers.
  • Fluency in the English and the Greek languages.
  • Collaborate closely with all departments to support IT requirements.
  • Provide guidance to Business Unit Managers and the Executive Committee.
  • Liaise with software houses, network, and hardware infrastructure suppliers.
  • Work with clients, travel agencies, and tour operators to integrate IT solutions.
  • Negotiate externally at a high level to ensure optimal technology partnerships.
