In this pivotal role, you will support and report directly to the Housekeeping Manager by leading the housekeeping team and ensuring meticulous cleanliness, comfort, and service across a property with over 200 keys. The Role:
- Team Leadership & Management: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of housekeeping staff to maintain the brand’s standard of luxury service. Act as a supportive leader by ensuring staff members are well-prepared and focused on creating an exceptional guest experience
- Quality Control & Inspection: Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure the highest cleanliness and orderliness standards. Address any inconsistencies immediately to ensure the guest experience is flawless
- Inventory & Supplies Management: Monitor stock levels for housekeeping supplies, amenities, and linens. Work closely with the procurement department to maintain optimum inventory and ensure all resources meet brand standards
- Guest Service & Satisfaction: Respond promptly and efficiently to guest requests and feedback. Continuously seek ways to enhance the guest experience by anticipating needs and exceeding expectations
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all housekeeping operations align with health, safety, and sanitation standards. Regularly review safety protocols with the team to maintain a safe environment for both staff and guests
- Staff Scheduling & Administration: Collaborate with the Housekeeping Manager to prepare weekly schedules, manage time-off requests, and maintain accurate records of staff attendance and performance
- Reporting & Communication: Provide daily updates to the Housekeeping Manager regarding team performance, guest feedback, and any operational challenges. Facilitate open communication within the housekeeping team and with other departments as necessary
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager in a luxury hotel or resort setting with 200 keys or more is required. Experience in properties of a similar size and standard is essential
- Current Role: Only candidates currently holding the position of Assistant Housekeeping Manager will be considered; applications from those seeking promotion from supervisory roles cannot be accepted
- Qualifications: Background in hospitality management or a related field is highly desirable
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on maintaining high cleanliness and quality standards
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a diverse team with an emphasis on motivation, training, and development
