Senior Project manager

GEOSYSTEMS HELLAS S.A., a leading provider in earth observation and downstream space application solutions company based in Pangrati (Athens), in the context of National and European R&D is looking for a Senior Project manager to join our dynamic team.

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Project Manager in Athens. In this position you will participate in National and European R&D/commercial projects and interact with all necessary partners to design and implement the task deliverables on time.

Responsibilities

•  Manage and follow up a set of projects in some or all of their life cycle phases, ensuring timely delivery according to the agreed schedule, with the expected quality and within the provided resources.
• Understand the technological aspects of the project, including associated risks and success factors.
• Collaborate closely with the software development team for the design and technical requirements of new products.
• Produce, review, and validate all project deliverables and documentation.
• Coordinate among various project stakeholders, actively participating and contributing in internal and external meetings.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the writing of technical and administrative parts of project proposals.
• Manage and contribute to the implementation of R&D projects funded by European (e.g., Horizon Europe, ESA, Digital Europe) and national programs (e.g., ΕΣΠΑ, ΓΓΕΤ), including proposal preparation, reporting, and interaction with funding bodies.

Requirements

• Understanding of EO (Earth Observation), IT technologies, and the expanding field of Artificial Intelligence.
• University degree in IT, Engineering, or related fields, combined with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Extensive experience in project management methodologies and tools.
• Proven experience in large-scale systems integration projects, ideally within the EO and IT commercial or R&D sectors.
• Ability to draft technical documentation, including meeting minutes, business cases, vision documents, SLAs, terms of collaboration, and planning schedules.
• Familiarity with EO and Computer Vision best practices will be considered an asset.
• Experience in managing European and national R&D projects, including technical coordination, deliverable preparation, and reporting.
• Possession of a recognized project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is considered a plus.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
