The Opportunity
We are searching for a passionate and experienced Head Waiter to join our dynamic team at our new location in Piraeus. As the Head Waiter, you will lead and inspire our service team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and upholding our high standards for service and quality.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Provide daily operational leadership and motivation to a team of servers, bartenders, and support staff.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and ensure team members understand service protocols, menu specials, and daily tasks.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure all areas are well-staffed for optimal guest service.
- Mentor and coach team members on service techniques, product knowledge, and guest interaction.
- Evaluate team member performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Address guest concerns and resolve any service issues promptly and professionally.
Guest Service & Experience:
- Champion our commitment to exceptional guest service by actively interacting with guests, anticipating their needs, and exceeding their expectations.
- Ensure prompt and accurate order taking, food and beverage service, and bill presentation.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Play an active role in upselling specials and creating a memorable dining experience for all guests.
Restaurant Management:
- Assist the Restaurant Manager with administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling, payroll processing, and inventory control.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new service initiatives to enhance the guest experience.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee restaurant set-up and service throughout the day, ensuring a clean, well-organized, and inviting environment for guests.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and other team members to achieve operational goals and maximize efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in high-end dining.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a high-end or fine dining restaurant environment, with at least 2 years in a Head Waiter or similar leadership position.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with guests and staff at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of high-end dining service standards and etiquette.
- Proficiency in restaurant Point-of-Sale systems and other relevant software.
- Strong attention to detail and a dedication to quality and flawless execution.
- Passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Fluency in Greek and English is required. Additional language skills are a plus.
