Chief Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join a prestigious 4-star hotel. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance and engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

As a  Chief Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering department, including maintenance, repairs, and installation activities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure all hotel facilities and equipment are in excellent working condition.
• Manage a team of engineers and maintenance staff
• Prepare and manage the engineering department budget, controlling costs without compromising quality.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including equipment logs, maintenance schedules, and repair reports.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide timely solutions to minimize disruption to hotel operations.

For the Chief Engineer position you should ideally demonstrate:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field) or equivalent technical qualification.
• 3-5 years of experience in engineering/maintenance, ideally in the hospitality industry
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
• Excellent command of Greek and English
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
