Job Description / Lighting Product Manager
The Lighting PM manages existing products as well as introducing new products and product updates throughout V. Kafkas SA. In this role, the PM conducts margin analysis and market research to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability. The PM will work as a facilitator between the various internal organization departments to ensure sales goal achievement, training of sales persons and lighting products specialists within the organization. The PM role in general, requires a broad knowledge of the organization’s capabilities, knowledge of the technologies, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Furthermore PM will develop sales and on-going project support and work with marketing staff members in promoting activities related to lighting products. The role requires research and analysis of marketing data to execute actions plans and establishment of a measurement process to provide and receive feedback from lighting products customers and manufacturers. The PM also provides training programmes for customers on products and promotion campaigns.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the entire products life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going communications with customers and non-customers
- Manage in-life products performance: sales and margin conducting extensive numerical analysis using company data.
- Develop lighting products business plans by performing an objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment, quantifying risks and developing a financial model
- Identify and present innovative and creative lighting solutions.
- Coordinate and build strong working relations with various internal organizations including; Retail, Sales, Project and Marketing.
- Develop and implement a go-to-market plan, working with all internal departments to execute
- Evaluate promotions plans to ensure sales increase and consistency with product category strategy
- Lead the development, approval, training, and communication of new products/product changes and their associated customer, operational, system, & process impacts to the various internal organizations.
- Develop & conduct specialized training on lighting products and raise awareness & application of relevant subject matter
- Gather continuous intelligence on the products performance, customer attitudes, markets move and new problems and opportunities
- Provide support for other departmental sales projects as needed and support sales in tendering and bidding process
- Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
- Manage vendors relationships, defining requirements of each vendor services and negotiate with them regarding price/discount policies
